Mountain Bike Hike (near Orlando) in the Little Big Econ State Forest
Join us for this action-packed day out in the Little Big Econ State forest (just 20 miles north-east of Orlando) featuring over 8 miles of wilderness mountain biking trails. First, we start off nice and easy on some simple switchbacks to get you warmed up. As the trip progresses, we head deep into this dense tropical forest across streams, over ridges and along the Econ River. This super fun day takes you on trails like the Ditch of Doom, Yahoo, and The Outback. Keep your eyes open for alligators along the river, blue herons, egrets, deer, and other indigenous wildlife.

This is a great half day tour that gets you out for some exercise and helps you see some of the best of Florida’s natural woodlands. Bike tour can be customized for beginning mountain bikers, or made more challenging for those with some experience.
If you want a longer tour, try our Pedal and Paddle tour which combines this tour with kayaking on the Econlockhatchee River.

My friends and I did the daytime Manatee and dolphin kayak tour. Our tour guides Bri and Sebastian were awesome! Super friendly and knowledgeable. We had such a great time seeing so many different wildlife on our way to the tour we saw snakes and an otter. On our tour, we saw some pretty birds, a little alligator, and several manatees and their cute noses coming out of the water. We didn't see dolphins on this tour but we did during lunch time by the bridge This trip was a surprise birthday gift for my friend and she had an incredible time. We even sang happy birthday to her on the water. Thank you Bri and Sebastian for this lovely experience.

Our trip was two days after a new moon. The trip departed at about 9:15 PM this Sunday evening. The weather was gorgeous and the lack of ambient lighting in the area surrounding Kennedy Space Center made for amazing star watching. No less exciting was the bioluminescence in the water. The dinoflagellates and the comb jellies were amazing.
The unique clear hulled kayaks we're fascinating as the bioluminescent life-forms sparkled and glowed as they glided against the hull in the water. it was like thousands of green shooting stars running along the entire underside of the kayak below the waterline. every pedal stroke made the water glow.
Skimming a net through the water made huge glowing swirls of green light. The guides were extremely knowledgeable about the biochemical phenomenon creating the lights and about the role of dinoflagellates and comb jellies in the ecosystem. I highly recommend this tour, especially in the days surrounding a new moon.

This was an amazing tour! My daughter asked to do this for part of her graduation trip. I was hesitant to say the least. I’m afraid of dark water. But John, our tour guide, put me at ease. He was super laid back and was very knowledgable about the area. We saw a huge pod of dolphins (15!) and a manatee within 5 minutes of heading out on the raft. The tour was super peaceful and fun. We saw so many comb jellies and were amazed at the bioluminescence. So cool! I would highly recommend this as a family outing.
